No extra slots for Head Start?

I've pre-ordered Factions and was looking forward to the Head Start, getting to play a day early with many friends and guildies. But apparently this won't be happening. I have used all four of my character slots from Guild Wars Prophecies, thus having four level 20 characters, all ascended, etc.
Now, correct me if I'm wrong, or perhaps misreading this. But I won't get to play until the official release day of April 28th? Even though I've pre-ordered and will be getting Factions; I won't get any extra slots to enjoy Factions on the Head Start day of April 27th, even though I've pre-ordered?
Isn't a benefit of pre-ordering so you can play on the Head Start? Sure, it's to reserve you a copy of Factions. But I have four level 20 characters and no way am I deleting them just to play on the Head Start.
Does this seem wrong to anyone else? Is this perhaps a mistake on ArenaNet's part?

if thats true it does seem like some people are getting cheated, but then agian you could just take the boat to cantha with one of your lvl 20's. this wont effect me at all as i have 2 accounts and 3 free slots as it is.

there is a difference between preordering the game and ordering the SEPARATE preorder package.
preordering the game simply reserves you a copy of the game no more no less.
the preorder package has the early access key friends invite etc.
you dont get the two slots until the retail key is entered to keep from having to straighten out accounts for people who take advantage but dont buy.

just remember that you'll only be able to link factions to one of those accounts (unless you buy two copies of factions).

Well heres the deal...
The Pre-Order gives you access to Factions Content A day Before Hand and the Day Of release. Content is the key word. You do not get the Full Rights Of owning the game. What if I pre-Ordered and Dont buy the actual game? I would end up being able to create 2 extra characters and then I wont need to buy factions if I just want the two Extra slots. Ofcourse they *could* code a disabling thing that makes the slots unplayable but that is just unrealistic as it is simply easier to not enable the slots untill after you purchase the full game. Yes It is a PITA But you lvl 20 characters can still visit factions Via Lions Arch. So long and thanks for all the fish.

ZOMG I CAN'T PVP FOR AN ENTIRE DAY!!!!
Come on people this is really nothing. You would have taken one of your c1 characters to c2 anyways so what does it matter? If you've used your 4 slots for pve then just take one of them.
If you have the slot open for pvp don't pvp for a day.
Move on to something more important. Anet did this the best they could without causing more hassle for them and the consumer.
There are much bigger issues in the game right now to discuss.

Most people will just use their PvP slot, then use one of their new slots as their new pvp slot.

ahh lovely fighting on the internet..
again read my last post, unless i'm really mistaken which i doubt... You BUY the game from the store seen here you get 2 cd's, and a bunch of other stuff.. and you take that key and link it to your existing account for what.. 2 more character slots.. that you won't get until the day of the official release (april 28th) insted of 1 day earlier to enjoy the factions head start....
uhm yea...
The game has been paid for, it has been linked to the account, and it has been said once it's linked it can't be used to make another account. read some of the past info on factions and you'll see what i said is the truth.

until your credit card is charged you havent paid for it.
my store does not charge until shipped.
if you went into a store and paid cash in full and go in later to pick it up that is your business.
note that my store had GW in my hands on the 26th so i had the key in a day before early time.
hopefully they will do the same for Factions.
also you have not linked anything except the preorder key to your account as the retail key is not available yet.
you add the retail key to the account to activate the game slots.
the preorder key has no slots on the list of items.
double check that please............preorder items compared to retail items.............note no slots on preorder and just play with what you have until the game is in your hands

No, AFAIK it can't. AFAIK prophecies characters can only go to Cantha after the official launch. The lack of extra slots means I've pre-ordered for nothing - I wont be able to play in Cantha until after official release. No big deal, I'd have bought the game anyway, but annoying.

OK if you have the pre-order you don't get the extra slots, you need the offical real game key to get the key slots, but most likey you will get the offical game before they have the server open for the people that get the head start, so if you have that key in the game you will get those slot at the time the early realise is actaved. But i could be wrong

You don't have to make a new character like you had to do for the Preveiw event.
On the 27th You can take one of your Current level 20's put him on the ship to Cantha, and go hang out with your buddies...when you enter your key code you'll get your two slots, but you have to do that on the 28th.

Yeah, I have to agree here. I thought they were being rather silly by creating temporary invite keys that you could send to friends (or yourself) which allowed you to create a temp account. Those people paid nothing for the game yet they get to keep the 4 slots they were given and a whole account. It was just extra effort that ANet spent writing code to disable those slots after the event was over. I imagine that is pretty confusing to people who can log into an account, see their 4 slots and/or characters and not be able to access them. Why should they even be able to store their characters (wasting valuable storage/database space which those of of that DID pay could use) when they didn't pay a dime? Two slots for free? heck quite a few people got four slots and a whole account for free..
endofsarcasm.

As was pointed out, though it appears the post was deleted.
- The NORTH AMERICAN PRE-ORDER INCLUDES:
- A key that provides access to the Factions Preview Event on March 24th
- Access to Guild Wars Factions twenty-four hours before the official release date
- Exclusive in-game items—one unique item for each of the two new professions
- A "friend" key that gives one of your friends access to the Factions Preview Event on March 24th
- A 14-day, 10-hour trial of Guild Wars (original Prophecies campaign)
- A tactical guide
- A quick-reference card
- A CD that includes concept art, wallpapers, and in-game trailers

There's no fine print saying you need to have a slot open to be able to enjoy the Early Access. There is nothing there saying if you have used all of your character slots you can take one of yor Chapter One characters over.
If you pre-ordered you should have two slots so you can get a Head Start with an Assassin or Ritualist.
From the Factions FAQ:
Will those who pre-order Guild Wars Factions be given early access to the game?
Yes, those who pre-order will have a 24-hour head-start on players who do not pre-order the game.

take one of your level 20 characters over just the same as i did for the event.
NOTE THAT THE PREORDER LIST HAS NO REPEAT NO MENTION OF SLOTS FOR THE EARLY 24 HOURS
YOU HAVE EARLY ACCESS WITH YOUR LEVEL 20. USE IT OR WAIT ONE LOUSY DAY TO CREATE YOUR ASS/RIT
